What happens when you call
- Call (313) 474-7729. Tell us what's leaking, clogged or not heating, and where the house is.
- We diagnose it on site. We find the cause and give you the price before any work starts. Nothing happens without your OK.
- We fix it properly. If a permit is needed (water heaters and sewer pipe in Detroit, for example), we pull it.
Built for Detroit's older houses
Detroit's median home was built in 1947, and 78% of homes were built before 1960 (Census ACS 2020–2024). That usually means cast-iron drains, galvanized supply lines and a clay sewer lateral. Cast iron scales, galvanized narrows, and clay lets roots in. We see all three every week, and we check for them before we recommend a fix.
Water everywhere? Do this first
- Shut the main valve. It's usually in the basement on the front wall, near the meter.
- Stay clear of water near outlets, appliances or the panel.
- Stop running water if sewage is coming up a floor drain.
- Leaking water heater? Set the gas to "off" or "pilot," or turn off the breaker on an electric one.
Then call (313) 474-7729. We answer 8 AM to 10:30 PM, every day. More on our emergency plumber page.

Frequently asked questions
What are your hours?
We're open 8 AM to 10:30 PM, seven days a week. Call (313) 474-7729.
Do you publish prices?
No. Plumbing is hard to price over the phone. We diagnose the problem on site and give you the price before any work starts.
Which areas do you serve?
Detroit and 28 nearby cities in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties. See the service areas page for the full list.
Do I need a permit to replace a water heater in Detroit?
Yes. Detroit requires a trade permit to replace a water heater. Clearing a clog doesn't need one.
Who is responsible for my sewer line in Detroit?
The property owner is responsible for the private lateral from the house to the city sewer. DWSD maintains the public sewer.
